MES Library Media Program Mission Statement:
Our mission is to create productive users of ideas and information. The Library Media Center aims to provide all school members with a variety of materials that will cultivate a love for reading, motivate life-long growth and learning, and to promote information literacy.
Students visit the library with their class once a week. They may check out two books at a time. We do not charge late fines; however, if a book is lost or damaged, students are expected to pay for the lost or damaged book.

Accelerated Reading Program:
Our school utilizes the Accelerated Reading program which is a digital tool that helps students and teachers manage and monitor independent reading practice in both English and Spanish. Through the AR program, students are encouraged to read independently every single day and work towards an individual goal each 9 weeks of the school year. Students who reach their goals and earn a certain amount of points are rewarded for their hard work at the end of each 9 weeks.
Reader of the Month:
Each month, our teachers choose one student from their class who has shown improvement in reading to be the ¨Reader of the Month.¨ This is another program that was designed to encourage students to read each day.
